Kentucky gets a long mosquito season — roughly April through the first hard frost in November. That is eight months in which the backyard, the deck, the fire pit, and the two hours between dinner and dark are either usable or they are not.
Most people do not buy mosquito control because of disease risk. They buy it because they built a patio they cannot sit on, or because their kids come inside at seven covered in bites.
The reason yard treatment works is that mosquitoes spend most of the day resting somewhere shaded and humid, not flying. Treating those resting sites — the undersides of foliage, dense ground cover, the space under a deck — reaches the population where it actually sits.
The reason it needs to be monthly is that the treatment breaks down under sun and rain, and a Kentucky summer supplies plenty of both.
What a visit looks like

An honest note about expectations
Mosquito control is the service in this industry most often oversold, so here is the plain version. Treatment will make a large, noticeable difference to how many mosquitoes are in your yard. It will not create a mosquito-free zone, because mosquitoes fly and your property has neighbours.
If you back onto standing water, a creek, or heavy woods, expect more pressure than a yard in the middle of a subdivision, and expect the treatment to be working hard rather than effortlessly. We will tell you that before you sign up rather than after your second invoice.
If pests come back, so do we — free, within 48 hours. That covers this too — if the yard is not usable between visits, we come back out.

- Does it actually work, or do they just come back?
- It substantially reduces the population in your yard, and it does not eliminate mosquitoes from the neighbourhood. Treated foliage kills mosquitoes that land on it, so the yard stays usable through the evening — but a yard is not a sealed environment, and anyone promising you zero mosquitoes is overselling. What you should expect is the difference between not being able to sit outside and being able to.
- Where do you treat?
- The places mosquitoes actually rest during the day, which is not the open lawn: the underside of shrub and tree foliage, dense ground cover, fence lines, under decks, and around standing-water sources. We also point out breeding sites you can eliminate yourself — a clogged gutter or a forgotten plant saucer produces more mosquitoes than the entire back half of most yards.

- That is Kentucky's actual mosquito season. Starting in April means treating before the first generation establishes rather than after, which is why the early-season visits matter more than they feel like they do. Activity generally ends with the first sustained frost.
- Is it safe for pollinators?
- Applied correctly, treatment targets resting sites rather than blooming plants, and we avoid flowering vegetation where pollinators forage. Tell us if you keep bees or maintain a pollinator garden and we will map those areas out of the treatment plan before the first visit.
